Surulere is one of the best cities in the world, a fun and always vibrant place moving at a really fast pace, it has some of the best road networks and a major link between Lagos island and the mainland, if you're considering visiting or relocating to surulere then in no particular order here are some of the good bad and ugly bits of surulere



Electricity 



Just like most parts of Lagos, surulere is a victim of epileptic power supply, bloated estimated billing system by the Eko distribution company, you can enjoy on average 4 hours or less of electricity daily.


Security 



there is good security in most of the areas in surulere but there is a consistent occurrence of theft, burglary, and bag snatching within the community, and the police are most of the time not willing to investigate because they are not willing to waste resources on for example a stolen phone, instead, you'd have to do your investigation if you get the person, you can call the police to come to make an arrest (so they can get free bail money)


Road and drainage system 



Surulere has a fantastic road network, you can easily access the mainland with Lagos Island and Victoria Island making it one of the main transport routes in Lagos. it serves as a mid-point between the island and the mainland, and living in Surulere ensures easy access to both areas, the drainage system is not satisfactory as most roads get flooded when it rains.

There is poor access to clean drinkable water in surulere as most residents rely on packaged water

The cost of living in surulere is quite high when compared to other parts of Lagos, house rent is very expensive, and foodstuff isn't cheaper in surulere

there are so many businesses, in all sorts of industries, based in Surulere. You will find Clothing stores, Interior Design boutiques, car dealers e.t.c among other businesses in this district, and not only will you be spoilt for choice when it comes to buying locally but there are plenty of opportunities for jobs too. The most popular street in the district that harbors some of these independent businesses is Adeniran Ogunsanya. There is nothing you cannot find on the street and all are of good quality too.

Surulere has very good public and private hospitals

 There are a lot of great bars, lounges, and pubs…and most importantly, You find clubs where you can stumble along for a dance on a rogue Tuesday night, as well as other bars that open from 10 am to 4 am every single day including Sundays
