The electricity company in Ikorodu is Ikeja Electric and the amount of electricity supply currently depends on if you're metered or not, the electricity distribution is mainly divided into two main line, 33 and 11, if you're on the 11 (majority of metered household), you can enjoy on average 14Hours or more of electricity daily while the 33 (majority on estimated billing households) you can use on average 5hours or less of electricity daily, so if you plan on living in Ikorodu it's very important to look for a house with prepaid meter

  • Security and criminality In Ikorodu

in the area of security, Ikorodu has drastically improved its security, some security challenges like, stealing, drug abuse, cultism and are now minimal but active, most of the security agencies are to be commended, while some like the police are to be questioned  for constantly harassing young people irrespective of your occupation. As someone that has had a few encounters with the police,  I can categorically confirm that all the police personal in the imota police station are fantastically corrupt no good egg among them. so you'd do well to stay away from the police and avoid late-night movement, especially on August 8 (8-8) when police has the license to catch anyone at will in ikorodu.

  • Road and Drainage system in Ikorodu

Lagos state government has investment so much in Ikorodu infrastructures starting from its road network. ikorodu has good road networks connecting the city's beautiful neighborhoods in most parts, although snail-like construction is undergoing in some bad parts of ikorodu like gberigbe and ijede and most street roads, the drainage system in ikorodu lacks proper drainage system, most building especially in the rural parts of ikorodu don't consider digging cutter for water to flow when it rains

You might have come across some online articles(link) about how a certain percentage of people in Nigeria don't have access to clean drinkable water, well residents of ikorodu are not part of that, unlike some parts of Lagos where you can't drink the water used in toilet,

most people raised in ikorodu don't know what this is all about, the water from the wells and borehole are really clean, safe and fresh to drink, bottled water and pure water are quite expensive in Ikorodu because of low patronage, water company only make sales when there is no electricity during the harmattan period

  • Cost of living(access to market, accessories) In Ikorodu

the cost of living is relatively low, depending on what your priorities are, housing in some parts of ikorodu is ridiculously cheap, the markets in ikorodu are poorly structured, food prices aren't cheaper in ikorodu, ikorodu is the hub of extremely fake electrical products, I wouldn't recommend buying any electrical product or any household items in ikorodu, except you're willing to part with your money for nothing.

Good paying Jobs are available but quite scarce In this area as it is In any part of Lagos you go, most women in ikorodu are self-employed mostly engaging in fashion designing, you can walk into any street and find more than 4 fashion designing shops.

there are so many modern schools with big and beautiful buildings, I don't know much about the curriculum but if you there are schools like,

ROOSEVELT SCHOOLS, INSPIRA college, At-Tanzeel Schools, Landmark College, Lighthouse International Schools, it all depends on your location, I'm certain there is a good school for your ward.

depends on where you are, there are so many good private hospitals on every major road in ikorodu, most public hospitals are really good and clean with fantastic doctors like the ijede general hospital, Ikorodu general hospital at ikorodu garage while some, "oh my God" fungus, earthworm, and mitochondria have overrun the place(igbalu general hospital), it's just nothing to write home about. pharmacy shops are almost everywhere you look but you'll have to check well before buying any drug because like I said earlier ikorodu is the hub of fake products in Nigeria, so ensure you do your NAFDAC test before ingesting anything
